Explore Bloomington-Normal
Welcome to Bloomington-Normal, Illinois!
The Bloomington-Normal area is a vibrant community offering a remarkable quality of life and a traditional Midwestern lifestyle and values. Known as a large town with a small-town feel, Bloomington-Normal is one of a kind. We are the home base for incredible organizations like State Farm, Country Financial, Special Olympics, and The Baby Fold.
With three Universities operating in the area: Illinois State University, Illinois Wesleyan University, and Heartland Community College, we are a community that holds education in high esteem. We hope to open our twin cities to NACURH by cooperating with small businesses, unique amenities, and more.
The Illinois State University Campus is right next to Uptown Normal that enriches our campus community with our local community. Uptown Normal is the hub for places to eat, like Pizza Payya, Medici, and LaBamba to name a few. The Uptown Circle allows for community events such as Art Fairs, Sweet Corn Festival, and more! There is also plenty of retail spaces to fill your day with shopping at Garlic Press, Apricot Lane, Comic & Record Stores and other local shops.
(If you come to our NACURH by train you will be in the center of Uptown!)
The "BloNo" community has a lot to offer from food, activities, and places to work. We are the home to State Farm HQ, Rivian, and Country Financial. With the younger demographic of our college community we also have many ways to stay active from our own campus recreation to our many parks and fitness centers in the area. Many have deemed "BloNo" with having the most restaurants per square mile with 350 restaurants in the area.
